Having a Merry Christmas!!!

Hi Everyone! I am having a blast on my first Christmas Day. I got to see new members of my family that I haven't met before. Right now, I'm watching the Christmas Day Parade from Walt Disney World. I got lots of presents from Santa that will help me as I grow up: stacking blocks, stuffed animals, and learning books. Mommy and Daddy read me "Twas the Night before Christmas" last night, so I wouldn't get scared when I heard footsteps and reindeer up on the roof last night, I didn't hear a peep.

Merry Christmas,

~ Aubrey

Aubrey is Growing Everyday

Over the weekend, we took Aubrey to the Piedmont Medical Center where they do free infant weight checks on Saturdays. We found out the Aubrey has crossed the threshold into double-digit world weighing in at 10 pounds 1 ounce. We were shocked at the increase and glad that she is growing at a healthy weight.

Fun in Technology World

I know that a lot of people are anxiously awaiting more pictures of Aubrey, but due to some fun technological mumbo jumbo, the computer no longer wants to communicate with the digital camera. So all of our pictures are still on the camera. Just wanted to let you know.

Site Updates

I'm working on a new photo gallery. I've been having some problems with the cache of Flickr and continuously get an error everytime I update the site for pictures of Aubrey. Hopefully the site won't be down for too much longer while I add photos. Thanks for your patience and I know you're looking for updates of Aubrey because she growing everyday! Sorry for the delay. Figure I'd fix it ASAP instead of not fixing it at all.

Wedding Weekend

We ventured down to Savannah, GA and Tybee Island, GA for Brandy's (Stacy's sister) wedding to her fiance Gary. It was a lot of fun hanging out by the ocean with family. We saw a dozen dolphins playing in the water not too far off from the shore.

It is alway great to welcome a new person to the family. Now when we get together for family gatherings, our little girl can ask the all important question:

"Uncle Gary, why do the Cleveland Browns smell like my dirty diapers??"

Wouldn't we all like to know, wouldn't we all? Welcome to the Jungle!

New Stroller

Today we got a new Combi stroller. It came in a box and we thought we'd document how we put it together. The nerd that I am had to put some cool music to it and make it a theatrical performance. Not the greatest video quality, but what do you expect on a first video and not having the resources of some good video editing software? Can't wait until our little girl realizes that her Daddy is kinda weird. Oh well! Enjoy!

Lil' Carson Fan

Today, our daughter joined the "Welcome To The Jungle" Yahoo! Fantasy Football league to join the rest of our family. Her team name is "Lil' Carson Fan" and I can't wait to help her pick who should be the running back for upcoming weeks matchup. ;-)

Pre-Daddy Day

On Saturday, August 26th, a bunch of guys from my office decided to take me out for the day in what was dubbed "Pre-Daddy Day" It was like a bachelor party before I become a daddy. I think it should catch on. There were 12 of us and we drove up into the Smokey Mountains and went rafting in 1-person kayaks called "Funyaks." I had never gone rafting before and was really excited!

The water was 48 degrees and the course was a couple miles long. The rapids were between at catagory 2 and 3. Not too intense, but plenty fun for me. Luckily, I didn't fall out of the boat unlike about half of our group. Thanks to the guys who made it possible and for being there to share in the experience with me.

Baby Shower

A few weeks ago, we traveled up to Ohio for our baby's Baby Shower. It was great to see a lot of family that I haven't seen since last Thanksgiving. Our family is so awesome and we got lots of useful items for the little girl (only 7 weeks or so to go!!!) to enjoy once she decides to join us. It's hard to believe that 40 weeks (although we aren't there yet) can go by so quickly.

Finally.....

After waiting 25 long years, they have finally done it! Stacy and I were having a craving for some dessert after dinner tonight, so we went over to the neighborhood Wendy's. We always enjoy a good Frosty. I went inside and ordered a Frosty for myself and a one for Stacy. Then the most amazing thing happened....the guy behind the counter asked me "What flavor would you like?" They now have Chocolate and Vanilla flavored Frosty's!!!!!!!!

It's the little things that make life worth living.....

Mid-July Update

Greetings Everyone! It has been a while since we'be had a post. Lots of fun stuff has been happening over the last month. As you well know, we found out we are having a baby girl. Well, when we found that out, you wouldn't believe how the collection of baby clothes began to grow. We've got pinks, purples, and yellows; all in various shades. Her little closet is getting pretty full. I'm sure the trend will continue.

We also had a very nice surprise when Grandpa & Grandma Dickman came to visit for 4th of July. They delivered a spectacular looking diaper changer that was built with love by Grandpa Dickman. Pictures are to come once I figure out how to perfect my photo gallery. We also got another delivery of a baby cradle that all of my family (cousins and siblings) slept in when we were newborns. The cradle was crafted by our girl's GreatGrandpa Dickman. Again, more pictures to come. Hopefully it won't be another month before another post.

This weekend, we will be venturing up to Gatlinburg, TN to visit with Grandma & Grandpa Kinsey for the weekend. More exciting updates to come. See you all later!

Stacy and Baby are doing great!!!

It's A Girl!!!

File0027-1.jpg

We found out that we are having a baby girl today! It's really exciting and neat to see the ultrasound and see our little bundle moving around and sucking her thumb. The coolest thing was seeing the baby heart beating and a really clear image of the baby spine. Everything is going well. She is 3.5 ounces and the head is 51 millimeters in diameter. Really tiny but really precious.

By the way, the white vertical line on the picture is a rip in the picture. My Fault!

The Office

Guess what?!?!?!? After 4 and 1/2 months of preparing to be a father, I was able to feel the baby's movements in Stacy's belly for the first time. It was really cool! Stacy had put my hand on her belly because there was some serious kicking going on. At first, I couldn't feel anything until something different happened. I stopped and paused and then had to ask "was that the baby?" Stacy said that it was and she got really SUPER EXCITED because she's been waiting for the moment where I would be able to share in the moment where I could feel the baby move. It just shows that the baby enjoys watching 'The Office' as much as I do.

Adventures in Baby Dickman

18 weeks, 4 days, part 2 We visited Dr. Benson this week. He says the baby is very healthy as far as he can tell. The baby's heartbeat is steady between 140 and 150. As for me, I have gained 6 pounds!! That seems like a lot, but I am right on track. And my belly is really growing, as you can tell in the pictures. On Monday, 6/5 we go in for our ultrasound. Make sure you check back on Tuesday to see the pictures! Thanks for checking in! See ya!

Baby Movements!

The baby moved! It was so amazing of a feeling. At only 16 weeks, I shouldn't feel the baby move too often, but I felt it for the first time this week. It should only be a few more weeks until I feel it all the time. And then Brian can feel it, too! It was a big day at our house!
